The Missing Bridge
"How many opportunities have we missed — not because we lacked talent, but because we never knew they existed?"
Two units, one mandate — Research Events Unit + Research Promotion & Outreach Unit.
Visibility and digital presence — making IRC visible, active, and relevant.
Connection and preparation — helping students connect, prepare, and participate.
Success and long-term impact — building trust and getting stronger every semester.
Visibility becomes opportunity, and content becomes credibility. Posters, reels, interviews, project highlights, and impact reports build trust — so that when alumni, investors, and partners see our consistent work, they become more willing to collaborate and fund the IRC.
The cost of unawareness is missed potential. A simple, effective system will share opportunities with students — helping them participate and grow, and signalling to outside organisations that IRC is a trustworthy, capable team to collaborate with.
Imagine a Networking student teaming up with an AI student for a cybersecurity challenge. We will create spaces where students with different interests can meet, share ideas, and form teams — and move in lockstep with the Research & Innovation Wing: they create the research and secure grants, our Wing ensures the world sees it.
Awareness is not enough — students need guidance and practical support to sustain their efforts. Through the Research Events Unit, we will invite industry professionals and mentors to guide students, because a prepared student is more likely to participate.
Success isn't the number of events we run; it's measured by the students we help grow. We will share progress transparently, appreciate contributors, and build the credibility and consistency that make IRC a community people actively want to join and support.
As President, I will listen before I lead. To stay accountable to the student body and the R&D Committee, I commit to four constitutional mandates:
At least two Wing Board meetings per month, to keep operational momentum.
A General Body Meeting at least once a month — a progress report and open forum for feedback.
The bi-monthly Performance Measurement Survey — evaluated on attendance, initiative, teamwork, and targets.
An annual budget, transparent records via the Wing Secretary, and quarterly reports to the R&D Supervisor.
Google. SpaceX. Apple.
"A single researcher can achieve a lot. Many researchers, working together, can change the world."
I do not ask for your vote because I have the biggest promises. I ask for it because I have a clear plan, a practical agenda, and a deep belief in execution and holistic teamwork — a Research Engagement Wing that works seamlessly with the Innovation Wing, and is visible, credible, and impactful.
Vote Alson Shrestha for President.
